"We had the absolute pleasure of having Alberto from Tower Bridge Photography as our photographer, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. He was so good from start to finish, extremely kind, welcoming, and genuinely looked after us throughout the entire session. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed, which made the whole experience so enjoyable. The photos are absolutely incredible and are the best pictures we could have hoped for. Alberto has an amazing eye for capturing special moments, and we're so grateful for the beautiful memories he created for us. I would highly recommend Alberto to anyone looking for a talented, professional, and caring photographer. Thank you so much for such an unforgettable experience on my birthday! 🎈"

Tower Bridge Photoshoot: Book a Photographer at Sunrise
A private session with a local photographer at Tower Bridge, early in the morning while the riverside is empty. About 15 edited photos, from $121 for up to six people.
If you want photos of yourself at Tower Bridge, book the private sunrise session. A local photographer meets you at the bridge early in the morning, spends about 40 minutes guiding you along the riverside, and sends roughly 15 edited photos within a few days. It costs $121 for a group of up to six (checked October 2026), so for a couple or a family it works out cheaper per person than most London shoots, and it has a 5.0 from its first four reviews. The early start is the point: the walkways along the river are close to empty before the commuters and tour groups arrive, and the low sun lights the bridge’s towers from the east.
Why sunrise works at Tower Bridge
The Thames runs roughly east to west under Tower Bridge, so at sunrise the sun is downriver behind it. From upstream, in Potters Fields Park or in front of the Tower, you get the bridge against a bright eastern sky; from downriver, on Shad Thames or by St Katharine Docks, the towers’ east faces catch the first light. By ten o’clock the north bank in front of the Tower is busy with visitors, and you will be sharing every angle with them.
Sunrise in London moves by more than three hours through the year, so the session time moves with it. These are the times on the 15th of each month:
| Month | Sunrise | Sunset |
|---|---|---|
| January | 07:59 | 16:20 |
| February | 07:14 | 17:14 |
| March | 06:15 | 18:04 |
| April | 06:05 | 19:56 |
| May | 05:08 | 20:45 |
| June | 04:42 | 21:19 |
| July | 05:00 | 21:11 |
| August | 05:45 | 20:23 |
| September | 06:34 | 19:15 |
| October | 07:23 | 18:07 |
| November | 07:17 | 16:11 |
| December | 07:59 | 15:51 |
Computed for Tower Bridge, local time (GMT in winter, BST in summer).
In June that means a session around 5am. If that sounds brutal, autumn and winter are kinder: a mid-October sunrise is about 7:20, and a November one about 7:15. The calendar shows the start times for each date.
Where the photos are taken
The best views of Tower Bridge are from the riverside, not from the bridge itself. On the south bank, Potters Fields Park and the Queen’s Walk look straight across at the bridge with the Tower of London behind it. On the north bank, the walkway in front of the Tower gives you the bridge side-on with the river below. East of the bridge, the old warehouses of Butler’s Wharf and Shad Thames frame it from the other direction, and St Katharine Docks is a few minutes away if you want boats in the picture. Your photographer chooses the route, and you can tell them in advance which kind of shot you want.
The bridge itself is free to walk across at any hour. What costs money is the Tower Bridge Exhibition inside it: the engine rooms and the high-level walkways, 42 metres above the river, where glass floor panels were added in 2014. That is a separate ticket and not part of any of these shoots.
The three shoots, side by side
- The sunrise session: about 40 minutes, around 15 edited photos, $121 for up to six people. Its reviewers describe their photographer as kind, well organised and quick to reply. The listing says other locations, such as Big Ben and the London Eye, can be added on request.
- The classic Tower Bridge shoot: the most reviewed of the three, 4.2 out of 5 from 87 reviews, from $118 for one or two people, with session lengths from 15 minutes to an hour and a half. Photos arrive by link within 48 hours, and you can buy extra shots beyond your package. It runs through the day rather than only at dawn.
- Westminster and Tower Bridge: three hours, about 25 photos at Big Ben, the London Eye and the red phone boxes, then the Tube to Tower Bridge for 15 more. $281 for up to six. You pay your own Tube fare, so bring a contactless card.

Shoot first, then the Tower
A sunrise session ends next door to the Tower of London, usually well before it opens, so you can have breakfast in St Katharine Docks and still be at the gate for the first entry. If you have not booked the Tower yet, the Tower of London tour with a Beefeater gets you in with a guide and covers the Crown Jewels. For a shoot elsewhere in the city, at Big Ben, in Notting Hill or for a proposal, london-photoshoot.com compares the London sessions and what each one includes.
Before you book
Wear something you are happy to be photographed in, and bring a layer: the riverside can be cold at dawn, even in summer. If rain is forecast, contact the photographer through your booking about moving the session. All three have free cancellation up to 24 hours before, which leaves you room to change the date.

What people ask before booking a photographer at Tower Bridge.
From the riverside rather than the bridge itself. Potters Fields Park and the Queen's Walk on the south bank look straight across at the bridge with the Tower of London behind it. The walkway in front of the Tower on the north bank gives you the bridge side-on, and Butler's Wharf and Shad Thames frame it from the east. A photographer on a Tower Bridge sunrise photoshoot picks the route for the light that morning.
Potters Fields Park, right beside the south end of the bridge, has the classic full view. From HMS Belfast and the Queen's Walk a little further west you look downriver at it, and St Katharine Docks and the north bank by the Tower of London are good from the other side. All of these are free public spaces.
The private sunrise session costs $121 for a group of up to six and includes about 15 edited photos. The classic Tower Bridge shoot starts at $118 for one or two people, and a three-hour combination with Big Ben and Westminster costs $281 for up to six (all checked October 2026). Prices are per group or package, so check what is included when you pick a date.
It follows the sunrise, which in London runs from about 4:40 in mid-June to about 8:00 in mid-December. Mid-October is around 7:20. The calendar on this page shows the start time for each date. Early sessions are the quietest, because the riverside fills up once the Tower of London opens.
Yes. The roadway and its pavements are a public crossing, open to walkers at any time. What you pay for is the Tower Bridge Exhibition inside it: the engine rooms and the high-level walkways 42 metres above the Thames, with glass floor panels added in 2014. The exhibition ticket is not included in any photoshoot.
If you like engineering or views, yes: the high-level walkways give you the river from 42 metres up, and the glass floor lets you look down on the traffic. For photos of you with the bridge, though, the outside is what you want, and that costs nothing. A photoshoot takes place on the riverside, not inside.
The sunrise session includes about 15 professionally edited, high-resolution photos, delivered within a few days. The classic Tower Bridge shoot sends a link to your photos within 48 hours, with the number set by the package you choose and extra photos available to buy. The Westminster and Tower Bridge combo includes about 40.
The sunrise listing says other locations, such as Big Ben and the London Eye, can be added on request, so ask when you book. If you want both from the start, the Westminster and Tower Bridge combo covers Big Ben, the London Eye and the red phone boxes, then Tower Bridge, in three hours. You pay your own Tube fare between the two.
Yes, and the per-group price helps: the sunrise session costs the same for one person or six. The listing says it is designed for solo travellers, couples and content creators, and you can tell the photographer before the day whether you want relaxed portraits, couple shots or something more styled.
Something you are comfortable in and happy to be photographed in, with a warm layer for the riverside at dawn. Solid colours tend to stand out well against the grey stone and the blue paintwork of the bridge. Comfortable shoes help, because the photographer will walk you between two or three spots.
Contact the photographer through your booking about moving the session if rain is forecast. All the shoots on this page have free cancellation up to 24 hours before, so you can also cancel and rebook another morning. A wet riverside can still look good in photos, so some people go ahead.
